Biotin (B7 or Vitamin H) is a B type complex vitamin that occurs naturally in a variety of foods. It helps support a healthy nervous system and improves the basic protein that supports hair, nails and skin.

Biotin is a water soluble vitamin, so easily stored in the body and any excess is excreted. This is why regular intake is required to maintain the necessary levels. Biotin can be taken orally or intramuscularly. Intramuscularly can be more effective in increasing Biotin levels faster than taken orally.

Biotin can help restore the general health of nails, hair and skin. Taking Biotin supplements has shown to help increase hair growth, hair structure and thickness, as well as decrease hair loss.

– The enzymes responsible for hair, skin and nails, also stimulate keratin synthesis.
– Biotin deficiency leads to weakening and thinning of hair
– Biotin supplements are useful in enhancing the growth and strengthening of hair fibres
– Supports healthy red blood cells that carry oxygen and nutrients to the scalp and hair follicles
– Aids prevention of hair loss

Although the evidence is limited to support hair growth, more evidence is available to support the decrease in hair loss through taking Biotin supplements.

– aids in healthy sweat glands
– support healthy cell growth, leading to healthy skin
– improves acne, eczema and other skin conditions
– promotes nail growth
– improves blood glucose
– boosts enzyme production to support fat and carbohydrates metabolism
– increases metabolism
